WIMCO takes pride in its commitment to LEED construction. Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED) is an internationally recognized green construction certification ensuring the most energy-efficient and environmentally friendly practices in construction. LEED construction goes beyond simply the materials used on a project. LEED certification for any project begins during the design phase and extends to the management and operations as well.
While the LEED Green Building Rating System has only been around since 1993, it is fast becoming commonplace in today's building industry. WIMCO currently employs two LEED Accredited Professionals (LEED AP) as part of the company's full-time staff to facilitate the certification process on any project where LEED will be implemented. There are also currently eight members of the full-time staff at WIMCO studying for the LEED Green Associate accreditation. With concerns over global warming and non-renewable resources, green building is no doubt the way of the future. At WIMCO, we are fully prepared to integrate the components of LEED construction into your project from the design phase to your maintenance and operations strategies.
