Company History The Rawls family of Washington, North Carolina has owned and operated WIMCO since its inception in 1972. Their practical and functional building philosophy has grown the WIMCO concept into a multiple-award-winning company capable of meeting any commercial or industrial construction requirement. The modern day WIMCO has its roots in a family owned business involving crane service, steel erection, pile driving and metal building construction. In 1972, the business grew to become a general construction firm. Today, WIMCO uses its strong foundation to support its innovation and expansion. WIMCO has built a reputation as an industry leader in the utilization of computer technology and has been recognized in IBM's professional trade magazine for its exemplary use of construction software. WIMCO's growth is evidence by being licensed and working in North and South Carolina, Virginia, West Virginia, Maryland and Delaware. WIMCO has also grown to include renovation and design to its already impressive array of construction services. More than 1500 projects have been completed over WIMCO's long history. WIMCO and its owners, Artie, Jeryl, and Kevin Rawls, recognize that their reputation for quality construction done on a timely basis has been built by years of doing things right. They intend to protect that reputation by continuing to build excellent industrial and public buildings, and providing a full spectrum of services for public and private commercial projects.
